TRANS INDUSTRIAL CONGRESS 99
Preface
The first TRANSINDUSTRIELL CONGRESS 99 (TIC 99) took place in Hamburg at the Atelierhaus 30 and the Bücherhalle (library) Altona from the end of September to the end of November 1999. The TIC 99 changed Hamburg in a TI-city like the TI-manifestations did it before in Verona and Roden (and later in Amsterdam,Veenhuizen, Oldenburg and New York), even if not many people of Hamburg have remarked it yet. But the TIC 99 reached more than
3 0 . 0 0 0
people in the library (in this statistic we believe, of cause) and may be a handfull at the Atelierhaus 30 (we can´t believe it). We started the transformation with sculptures, paintings, grafics, performances, installations, music and of cause with the strong energies of the artists who took part.
The artists:
Angela Preusz, Loretta Saconelli, Katharina Ortleb, Peter Carnera, Paolo Moretto, Stephan Grüter, Barbara Pier, Marjatta Ranta-Iso, Auke Wassenaar, Heli Mäki-Arvela, ANDORRA (Sytske Feitsma, Jelle van Nimwegen), Gabriel Cerini, Moreno Danzi, Hannu Elenius, Erkki Sakari Heinonen, Stephanie ter Poorten, Sabrina Ruggeri, Esther Meyer-Velde, Ad Breedveld, Peter Kastner, Marleen van Engelen, Herr Penschuk, Gabriele Schwark, Robert Engelbrecht, Alberto Scunio, Y-TON-G, Gerry Eulink and Saku Levonperä.
I thank these artists very much for making the TIC 99 possible, for their great artworks and for their patience ( oh please, don´t let us talk again about the pizzas).
And special thanks go to Ad and Daniel (and Detlef Klein and Rüdiger Pier) for their help to organize the TIC 99, and Angela Preusz, Katharina Ortleb and Martina Freier for their logistic help. And don ´t let us forget the Kulturbehörde Hamburg, Bezirksamt Eimsbüttel, Bücherhalle Altona and EXEDRA.
