TIM * DÉRIVE * VEENHUIZEN (Ad Breedveld, Marleen van Engelen). I. TRAFO-GRAMMAR. Veenhuizen (NL-North) was examined with the map of Hamburg (D-North). 15 Art-points of HH (marked by Peter Kastner) were carbon-pressed on the map of VH. This 15 points were explored with the 15 Neanderthalers of Drenthe on the bicycle Sparta/Miami. The trafo-energy of the 15 points in VH was registered by photo’s; and by texts in the protocol. The 15 points were also visited with the horse Steintje, an Austrian Haflinger Mare with iron hoofs. The trafo-energy now was registered by photo’s by Marleen; and by texts in the protocol. Marleen continued the trafo-process by painting the 15 Steintje-locations with selected elements (horse; human object; nature object; barren landscape), and without the rider on the horse. And she formulated new trafo-energies for the 15 spots. The used trafo-technics were those developed by the International Situationists ca 1960: dérive (wandering around at random); détournement (changing the context of esthetic objects); and psychogeografie (projecting own wishes in the landscape). The hole process was intensified in the context of the recovering of a depression with the help of a psychiatrist, an anti-depressivum, a plan-support-assistant, an art-marketing-workshop and a Finnish-film-workshop. The effect of all these energies was described in the protocol and faxed every week to NY (Peter Kastner) and OLD (Daniel Penschuck). The dérive-process will be made visible in a book. The 1st of Oct. 2000 I started with the projections of the HH-artpoints on the map of VH. And with faxing my written dérive-VH-protocol to Peter & Martina (NY) and to Daniel & Suzanne (OLD). The protocol is describing all trafo-adventures and written on A4 in black. Later in Oct and Nov little find-pictures are coming in and the report becomes more and more detailed and the calligraphy more and more unreadable. The more privat the information is (psychiatrist statements, privat relationship), the more unreadable the handwriting. End of Nov there are 37 fullwritten pages. The meeting of 17 Dec in OLD will be the natural end of the protocol. Exhibition-proposal: 1. Facsimile A4 in the Book? 2. Facsimile A2 on a wall in the exhibitionroom as wallpaper under the picture-series? B. PICTURE SERIES ONE. HH-artpoints = VH-artpoints = Drenthe Neanderthalers. Kastner made a nice series of pictures of 15 artpoints of Hamburg. He followed the HH-order of State-temples, Profit-temples, Alternative-temples and Others. HH is too big for VH so 6 of the artpoints, outside the HH-centre, fall outside Veenhuizen, in the neighbouring villages Langelo, Een, Zuidwolde and Huis ter Heide. It's thrilling to locate the exact energypoints in the landscape and to connect them with HH and with the Neanderthalers. I look for them on my bicycle with two Neanderthaler plates on poles fixed on it. I mark the locations with bicycle and Neanderthaler on the pictures. Clear marks in the landscape have to be the signs of the trafopoints. Exhibition-proposal: 1. 15 pictures of HH-points, VH-points and connected Neanderthalers on 15 A3-pages in full colour. 2. 15 pictures of Drenthe Neanderthaler Woodcuts A2-size printed on Drenthe-daily-papers. C. PICTURE SERIES TWO. VH-artpoints = Steintje-visits = Marleen-paintings. Marleen made a nice series of photographs of the 15 VH-artpoints visited by me-on-Haflinger-mare-Steintje. And she selected three elements out of those photographs (horse + nature + culture) to make little surrealistic paintings out of them. The horsetrips with Marleen were important to reactivate our cosy freetime after depression. The paintings were shocking because she painted me-the-rider out of the picture. But the result is a series of 15 mysterious spellbound locations in VH. It’s nice to have her cooperation in our TI-Dérive-project. Exhibition proposal: 1. 15 pictures of VH-artpoints-with-Steintje and 15 sketches of Marleen on 15 A3-pages in full colour. 2. 15 paintings (15x15 cm) of the spellbound VH-trafopoints. D. SOUND. Rinie’s horseridinglesson mixed with Steintje’s iron-horseshoe-ritms on the pavement of Veenhuizen. Kastner and Penschuck are used to work with video- and sound-elements in their projects. The soundmix of NY and OLD provokes VH also to come with a strong sound-element. The most strong energy in VH is may be the horseridinglesson of Rinie Doller in the Silver Range Manege in Oosterwolde, every Friday-evening. She agrees with recording a lesson and her daughter Tamara is handling the recorder when she is shouting to me and others her lessons. Good Energy! But the horses are riding in the sand so very silent. So I have to mix Rinie’s lesson with the iron horseshoes in step, trod and gallup on the pavement of Veenhuizen. First I fix the recorder on Steintje’s neck. She immediately runs amuck. Then Marleen is training the horse and I can record step and trod. Then I fix the recorder around my own neck sitting on the horse. But after a while she runs amuck again. A very strong panic feeling is registered on the taperecorder. Rob and Lydia, friends of Radio Drenthe, are interested to mix the sounds on their professional computer-soundmix-machine, in cooperation with Peter Kastner? Exhibition proposal: 1. Cassette recorder in the photo-installation. Public can put it on on "lesson” or "amuck”. 2. Cassette recorder permanently playing the looptape with a mixture of amuck/lesson & NY & OLD. IV. TRANSINDUSTRIAL PROPAGANDA. A. TIM-AMSTERDAM-2000. The TI-manifestation "Fresh Snow” in Amsterdam (May 2000) was evaluated with a book with results, made by Van Wissen, Ophof, Fens and Waalwijk. As a review of the manifestation my protocol "KAKAVE IN FRESH SNOW” was used. 26 of the 50 participants made individual statements in the limited book (50 copies). The Fresh Snow Award 2000 was made by Guillaume Knies and given to Jan van Wissen. B. TIM-DÉRIVE IN KOETSHUIS-2001? In Sept-2001 there will be an experimental photo-exhibition of Verkuno in Koetshuis Roden. Connected with the mega-photo-manifestation "NOORDERLICHT” in Groningen. Is it possible to join in the Koetshuis with an TIM-Dérive-installation in one of the Koetshuis-rooms? C. TIM-DÉRIVE IN NY IN 2002? Peter Kastner discussed with NY-gallerist Mr. Randall the possibility to present in 2002 an etching-exhibition (with Barbara Pier) and a TIM-dérive-show (with Breedveld and Penschuck). D. TIM-DÉRIVE IN KANKAANPÄÄ-2002? In TIM-Hamburg and TIM-Amsterdam some Fins of the Art Academy of Kankaanpää (SF-south) were participating. Some teachers of that Academy (Holm, Juhantalo, Velhonoja) are interested to present some TI-ideas for their students in 2002. Is Saku Levonperä interested to support it in Kankaanpää? E. TIM-AMSTERDAM-2002? In Jan 2001 their wil be a meeting in Hamburg with the Amsterdam-participants concerning a new TI-manifestation in Amsterdam in spring-2002. The accent will probably be more on the exchange of opinions about the works of the participants. Debate. F. VIRTUAL TIM-MARSEILLE 2006? Idea of Jan van Wissen to organize a virtual TI-manifestation in Marseille-2006 with only published the book with descriptions of the virtual happenings that never really happened. V. PSYCHOGEOGRAFISCHER VERGNÜGUNGSPARK. Die SI wollte im Herzen der Stadt des Spektakels eine Stadt der Möglichkeiten errichten. Zunächst aber musste die Gruppe eine Stadt der Negationen erreichen: Sie musste den sozialen Aspekten der Stadt – Arbeit und Kunst, Produktion ond Ideologie – entkommen und als deren Antimaterie fungieren. Die neue Stadt würde ein psychogeographischer Vergnügungspark sein; davor würde sie ein schwarzes Loch der Affekte sein. "Das Spektakel … sagt nicht mehr als ‘Was erscheint , das ist gut; und was gut is, das erscheint’”, schrieb Debord in Die Gesellschaft des Spektakels. In der Stadt der SI würde es nichts geben, was nicht auch tatsächlich zuträfe. Eines Tages, davon war die SI zutiefst überzeugt, würde das schwarze Loch die einäugige Sichtweise des Spektakels aufsaugen, so als hätte es nie existiert. TIM-DÉRIVE TRAFO-EXHIBITIONS. The 17th of Dec. 2000 Kastner, Penschuck and Breedveld (with Freier, Van Engelen and Frau $) enjoyed the results of TIM-DÉRIVE-HH/VH/NY/OLD (sept-nov 2000). And we discussed the possibility to present an exhibition out of the results. As a new project! The form can be inspired by Kastners TIM-DÉRIVE TRAFO-ENERGY-POINT in Point B, Brooklyn, NewYork, sept-nov 2000. The following locations can be transformed in TRAFO-ENERGY-POINTS: 1.
